Pada jenis-jenis CPU terbaru, sudah dilengkapi pula dengan Graphic Processing Unit (GPU) yang terintegrasi ke dalam CPU, sebagai pengolah data-data grafis.
Random Access Memory (RAM)
RAM berfungsi sebagai tempat transit data sementara untuk operasi-operasi yang tengah dijalankan oleh CPU. RAM bersifat volatile, artinya perangkat ini tidak meyimpan data secara permanen, hanya untuk operasi yang dibutuhkan saja. Kapasitas RAM pada PC yang sering kita temukan cukup beragam , mulai dari 256 MB (MegaBytes) – 16 GB (GigaBytes)
Video Graphic Array (VGA)
VGA card atau kartu grafis berfungsi sebagai penghubung yang memungkinkan pengiriman data-data grafis antara PC dan perangkat display seperti monitor atau proyektor. Sebagian besar komputer memiliki VGA yang terpisah sebagai kartu ekspansi yang dipasang pada slot motherboard. Namun ada juga komputer yang mempunyai VGA terintegrasi pada motherboard atau pada CPU-nya.
Hard Disk Drive(HDD)
Hard-disk berfungsi sebagai tempat penyimpanan data utama dalam sebuah sistem komputer. Sistem Operasi , aplikasi, dan dokumen-dokumen disimpan pada hard-disk ini. Pada PC terbaru, ada juga perangkat keras baru yang bernama Solid State Drive (SSD). Fungsinya sama seperti hard-disk, namun menawarkan kecepatan transfer data yang lebih cepat.
Optical Disc Drive
Optical drive biasa juga dikenal dengan nama CD Drive, DVD Drive atau ODD. Fungsi dari perangkat ini adalah untuk membaca dan juga menyimpan data dari dan ke media cakram optik seperti CD , DVD, atau Blu-Ray Disc.
Power Supply Unit (PSU)
Power Supply berfungsi sebagai pengkonversi dan penyalur energi listrik dari outlet sumber (misalnya listrik PLN) ke bentuk energi listrik yang dapat digunakan untuk menjalankan komponen komputer yang berada di dalam casing. Biasanya, PSU ini diletakkan di bagian belakang casing.

Selain dari perangkat keras komputer yang terdapat di dalam casing, ada juga komponen-komponen yang umum kita lihat diluar casing:
Monitor
Disebut juga screen atau display. Fungsi dari layar monitor adalah untuk menampilkan video dan informasi grafis yang dihasilkan dari komputer melalui alat yang disebut kartu grafis (VGA Card). Monitor ini bentuk fisiknya hampir sama dengan televisi , hanya saja televisi biasanya mampu menampilkan informasi grafis dengan ukuran resolusi yang lebih tinggi.
Keyboard dan Mouse
Keyboard dan mouse berfungsi sebagai alat input untuk memasukkan perintah teks, karakter, atau menggerakkan objek pada antarmuka grafis untuk diproses oleh komputer. Ukuran dan bentuk dari kedua alat ini cukup beragam, namun fungsinya sama saja.

Diluar komponen-komponen yang sudah kita sebut diatas, ada pula perangkat keras komputer yang tidak semua komputer memilikinya:
Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS)
Sering disebut juga sebagai baterai cadangan, fungsi utama UPS adalah menyimpan dan menyediakan cadangan listrik yang akan digunakan ketika sumber listrik utama padam. Selain sebagai cadangan listrik, kebanyakan UPS juga berfungsi sebagai “stabilizer” yang mengatur aliran listrik agar sesuai dengan yang dibutuhkan.


Printer dan Scanner
Printer berfungsi sebagai alat output cetak dari dokumen elektronik baik bentuk teks maupun grafis. Pada komputer rumahan biasanya menggunakan kertas sebagai media cetaknya. Sedangkan fungsi scanner adalah kebalikan dari printer yaitu memindai input data dari luar komputer ke dalam bentuk elektronik yang dapat diolah secara digital.
Speaker
Fungsi dari speaker adalah sebagai alat output suara yang dihasilkan dari komputer. Selain speaker, sering juga kita temukan orang yang menggunakan headphone/headset sebagai alat output suara.
Sound Card (Kartu suara)
Fungsinya sebagai penghubung antara komputer dan alat output audio seperti speaker
Modem
Alat ini berfungsi untuk menghubungkan komputer ke internet
LAN Card
Fungsinya sebagai penghubung komputer dalam suatu jaringan.

Motherboard : Komponen dan Fungsinya

Motherboard, atau sering juga kita kenal dengan nama mainboard, mobo, MB, atau system board adalah sebuah perangkat keras dalam sistem komputer yang berbentuk printed circuit board(PCB).
Fungsinya adalah menghubungkan seluruh komponen penyusun sebuah komputer. Motherboard bisa dikatakan sebagai tulang punggung (backbone) dari sistem komputer, semua komponen komputer pasti terhubung dengan motherboard, baik langsung maupun tidak langsung.
Motherboard diproduksi dalam beragam ukuran, beberapa dibuat spesifik untuk merek sistem tertentu. Namun kebanyakan mobo modern dibuat untuk siap dipasang ke berbagai macam ukuran casing. Mobo dipasang didalam casing dengan menghadap ke arah sisi casing yang mudah dibuka, dan dikencangkan dengan menggunakan sekrup.

Bagian-bagian dari Motherboard:

Chipset
Bagian pertama dan terpenting dari sebuah motherboard adalah chipset, yang berfungsi sebagai penghubung antarmuka antara processor dengan macam-macam komponen eksternal dan buses. Jenis chipset inilah yang dapat menentukan dan menilai fitur dan kemampuan sebuah motherboard.
Ada dua kelompok chipset yang umum kita temui di pasaran. Kelompok chipset intel, yang hanya bisa digunakan untuk CPU Intel, dan chipset AMD untuk processor keluaran AMD. Kedua kelompok ini pun terbagi lagi kepada berbagai macam jenis generasi chipset yang terus berkembang.
Socket/ CPU Slots
Socket adalah tempat “bersemayamnya” processor pada motherboard. Sama seperti chipset, socket ini pun terbagi kepada berbagai macam jenis, tergantung dari jenis processor yang didukungnya.
Basic Input Output System (BIOS) Chip
BIOS adalah adalah sebuah chip yang menyimpan perangkat lunak untuk mengontrol hardware dan berfungsi sebagai interface antara hardware dan operating system (OS). BIOS digunakan oleh komputer untuk mempersiapkan prosess booting (startup) dan mengecek kesiapan sistem dan hardware sebelum komputer dijalankan.
Complimentary Metal Oxide Semicondutor (CMOS) Battery
CMOS adalah sebuah baterai yang mensupply power pada sebuah memory kecil pada motherboard yang berfungsi untuk menyimpan settingan konfigurasi komputer, waktu, dll. CMOS menjaga agar kita tidak perlu mengkonfigurasi hal-hal tersebut setiap kali kita menyalakan komputer
Memory Slots
Slot yang berbentuk agak panjang dan ramping ini berfungsi sebagai tempat di-installnya Random Access Memory (RAM). Di era komputer modern, hampir semua mobo mempunyai setidaknya dua slot RAM, bahkan pada spesifikasi komputer high-end ada motherboard yang dilengkapi sampai 6 slot RAM.
VGA Slots (Graphic Card Slot)
Slot ini berfungsi untuk menginstall komponen graphic card(video card) . Pada komputer modern, umumnya berupa slot dengan interface PCI-Express. Pada motherboard high-end bisa menampung sampai 3 slot graphic card.
Expansion Slots
Expansion slot berfungsi untuk memasang perangkat tambahan seperti Sound Card, LAN Card,dll.
Storage Drive Connector
Fungsinya untuk menghubungkan perangkat penyimpanan data seperti Harddisk Drive, Optical Drive, SSD, dan perangkat storage external. Biasanya berupa interface S-ATA (Serial Advanced Technology Attachment) /ATA.
Port-port lain
Selain slot-slot diatas, ada beberapa port pada motherboard yang fungsinya sangat esensial seperti:

• Port power 24 Pin/20 Pin – untuk menghubungkan mobo dengan power supply unit (PSU).
• Port Power 4pin/6pin – untuk menyalurkan daya ke processor.
• Port untuk tombol power/reset pada bagian depan casing.
• Port untuk konektor Front USB dan Front Audio.

Disamping sejumlah slot dan port diatas, ada pula bagian dari motherboard yang menghadap ke luar casing dan dapat diakses dari luar. Bagian ini disebut Back Panel I/O, biasanya terletak pada posisi samping sebuah mobo, dan menghadap ke belakang dari casing anda.

Banyak dari kita yang belum memahami apa pentingnya keberadaan sebuah CPU terhadap keseluruhan performa komputer. Apa fungsi dasarnya? Mengapa jadi penting mempunyai sistem pendinginan yang baik untuk menjaga processor pada temperatur idealnya? Kenapa suhunya tidak boleh terlalu panas?

 Seperti yang sudah diceritakan sebelumnya, keberadaan CPU mirip dengan otak pada manusia. Didalamnya setiap operasi yang anda lakukan pada komputer diproses di. Kinerja komputer anda ditentukan oleh operasi-operasi matematika sederhana. CPU adalah alat yang mengontrol semua operasi tersebut. 

Katakanlah anda menggunakan kalkulator untuk menjumlahkan dua angka, angka itu di-input oleh anda dengan menggunakan keyboard. Controller keyboard merubah semua informasi yang anda masukkan ke bentuk kode binary (binary code). Binary code terdiri dari deretan angka 0 dan 1.
Semua informasi ini dikirim ke registry lalu ditransfer ke CPU. Didalamnya terintegrasi Arithmetical Logical Unit (ALU). Unit ini bertanggungjawab terhadap semua operasi logika dan matematika.
Jadi, operasi kalkukasi yang anda minta diterima oleh CPU, lalu diteruskan ke ALU. ALU memberikan respon berupa binary code dan mengembalikannya ke CPU. CPU lalu mentransfer jawaban ke alat output.
Contoh diatas memang sangat sederhana, tapi begitulah ilustrasi bagaimana sebuah processor berfungsi.
Setiap operasi yang anda lakukan melalui komputer, akan terkoneksi ke CPU secara langsung maupun tidak langsung. Jadi sangat penting untuk membuat processor anda selalu dalam kondisi terbaik dengan menjaga suhunya agar tidak terjadi overheating.

Seberapa Cepat CPU saya?

Jumlah operasi yang dapat dilakukan oleh CPU tergantung dari kecepatannya. Kecepatannya diukur dalm satuan Hertz. Satu Hertz berarti komputer anda dapat melakukan satu operasi per satu detik. Kecepatan umum yang sering kita temui biasanya dalam satuan giga hertz. 1 GHz berarti satu juta operasi sederhana dapat dilakukan dalam satu detik. Semakin cepat, semakin banyak instruksi yang dapat diproses dalam waktu satu detik.

Tapi jangan hanya melihat dari angka frekuensinya saja, kecepatan CPU juga dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain, seperti arsitekturnya, ukuran cache, dan hal-hal lain yang harus dievaluasi oleh anda sebelum membeli CPU.

Multi-Core Processor

Multi-core processor sebenarnya adalah sebuah CPU yang mempunyai dua atau lebih inti (cores). Gagasan dasar dari multi-core processor adalah CPU dapat menjalankan beberapa instruksi dalam waktu yang sama. Fitur ini meningkatkan kecepatan kinerja komputer secara signifikan.

Perkembangan teknologi processor

Teknologi CPU terus berkembang dari waktu ke waktu. Di era modern sekarang ini, dua vendor terdepan di dunia , INTEL dan AMD terus berinovasi untuk meningkatkan kinerja CPU. Langkah 1 - Siapkan semua komponen-komponen untuk merakit komputer

Komponen Komputer

Merakit komputer merupakan sesuatu yang menyenangkan bagi yang suka dengan perakitan komputer. Sebelum mulai merakit komputer, maka persiapkan dulu komponen-komponennya, seperti Casing, Motherboard, Processor, Heatsink dan kipasnya, Memory / RAM, VGA Card / Kartu Grafis (PCI/AGP), Harddisk, CDROM/DVDROM, Monitor, Speaker, Keyboard dan Mouse. Selain komponen di atas, persiapkan juga CD driver yang dibutuhkan dan CD Sistem Operasi serta Software yang diperlukan. Persiapkan pula berbagai alat tangan seperti obeng, tang dan alat pendukung lainnya.

Langkah 2 - Pasangkan Processor, CPU Cooler dan Memory/RAM ke Motherboard.

Processor adalah sebuah IC yang mengontrol keseluruhan jalannya sebuah sistem komputer dan digunakan sebagai pusat atau otak dari komputer yang berfungsi untuk melakukan perhitungan dan menjalankan tugas. Processor terletak pada socket yang telah disediakan oleh Motherboard, dan dapat diganti dengan Processor yang lain asalkan sesuai dengan socket yang ada pada Motherboard. Salah satu yang sangat besar pengaruhnya terhadap kecepatan komputer tergantung dari jenis dan kapasitas Processor.

Cara memasang Processor adalah sebagai berikut:

• Buka pengunci Socket Processor pada Motherboard.

  

  Memasang Processor

• Pasangkan Processor ke Motherboard. (PENTING...! Perhatikan bahwa Processor mempunyai tanda pada salah satu sudutnya, dalam hal ini biasanya ditandai dengan lekukan, lubang atau anak panah).
• Cocokan tanda tersebut dengan tanda yang ada pada Socket Processor (Jika Anda melakukan hal tersebut di atas dengan tepat, maka Processor akan dapat dimasukkan ke socketnya dengan baik dan benar).
• Kemudian kunci kembali socket tersebut, dengan cara menekan tuas kebawah dan mengaitkan pada pengunci yang ada.

Cara Memasang CPU Cooler (Pendingin CPU)

• Siapkan CPU Cooler dan Pasta Processor. 

  

  Memasang CPU Cooler

• Lapisi Processor yang sudah terpasang dan permukaan CPU Cooler dengan pasta yang sudah dipersiapkan tadi.
• Kemudian pasangkan CPU Cooler tepat diatas Processor yang sudah terpasang, lalu kencangkan pengunci pada CPU Cooler.
• Hubungkan daya yang terdapat pada CPU Cooler dengan Motherboard.

Cara Memasang Memory/RAM

Memasang Memory/RAM

• Perhatikan slot memory Anda, apakah sudah sesuai dengan jenis memory yang Anda gunakan.
• Jika sudah sesuai, maka pasangkan memory komputer Anda pada slot yang sudah disediakan.
• Kemudian klik pengait pada masing-masing ujung memory agar memory tidak bergerak-gerak.

Langkah 3 - Memasang Hardisk dan CD/DVD Drive.

Hardisk ATA dan SATA

Sebelum memasang Hardisk ke casing langkah pertama yang harus anda lakukan adalah mengenal jenis Hardisk yang akan Anda gunakan. Untuk Hardisk yang sering digunakan saat ini yaitu Hardisk ATA dan SATA. Jika Anda Menggunakan Hardisk ATA maka kabel penghubung dari Hardisk ke Motherboard yang harus Anda gunakan adalah Kabel IDE, dan jika Anda menggunakan Hardisk SATA maka silahkan gunakan kabel SATA. Perbedaan kabel IDE dan SATA terletak pada fisik kabel, kabel ATA lebih lebar dari pada kabel SATA. Biasanya kabel ATA digunakan untuk beberapa perangkat lain selain daripada Hardisk seperti CD/DVD-ROM.

Cara memasang Hardisk dan CD/DVD Drive adalah sebagai berikut:

Memasang Jumper Hardisk

• Pertama, aturlah jumper pada hard disk. Jumper ini ada di bagian belakang hardisk dan memiliki tiga sampai lima pasang pin. Bila hardisk yang akan Anda pasang cuma satu, maka setlah jumper ke posisi "MASTER". Jika ada dua hardisk, maka cabut jumper hard disk ke dua dan posisikan sebagai "SLAVE". Petunjunk pemasangan jumper biasanya ada pada sisi atas hardisk.
• Pasang kabel data SATA pada port data di belakang hardisk. Pemasangannya tidak sulit. Cocokkan saja ujung kabel dengan port data di hardisk, jadi tidak mungkin terbalik. Lalu, pasang ujung satunya dari kabel data tersebut pada port SATA 1 atau primary SATA pada Motherboard. Cara pemasangannya sama dengan pemasangan ke hardisk.
• Kemudian letakkan hardisk pada tempat yang sudah disediakan di casing, biasanya ada beberapa slot, kemudian kencangkan dengan skrup yang tersedia. Setelah itu pasanglah kabel power dari Power Supply ke Hardisk. Jika Power Supply Anda model lama yang tidak mempunyai kabel power untuk SATA, Anda bisa menggunakan kabel power Konverter (lihat gambar). 

  

  Cara Memasang Hardisk

• Untuk pemasangan CD/DVD drive kurang lebih sama dengan pemasangan Hardisk. Hanya penempatannya saja yang sedikit berbeda, biasanya CD/DVD Drive ditempatkan pada bagian teratas pada casing. Sebelum menempatkan CD/DVD Drive, buka dulu penutupnya yang terbuat dari plastik, Kemudian tekan penutupnya dari bagian dalam.

Langkah 4 - Merakit kabel komputer.

Setelah semua komponen komputer terpasang, langkah selanjutnya adalah merakit kabel-kabel komputer, baik kabel I/O, kabel hardisk, kabel CD ROM, Kabel power CPU dll. Anda cukup memperhatikan gambar berikut ini untuk panduan Anda memasang kabel-kabel untuk merakit komputer Anda.

Sebaiknya Anda benar-benar memperhatikan langkah yang satu ini, karena ini merupakan salah satu yang paling central dalam merakit komputer, jika kabel yang Anda hubungkan ternyata salah maka akan berakibat fatal. Akan tetapi Anda tidak perlu khawatir berlebihan, setiap kabel sudah disetting sedemikian rupa agar berbeda dengan yang lain, jadi Anda tinggal mencocokkan saja dengan colokannya. Langkah 5 - Terakhir adalah menginstall Sistem Operasi sesuai kebutuhan Anda.

Setelah Anda selesai merakit komputer Anda, langkah terakhir yang harus dilakukan agar komputer bisa Anda gunakan dengan baik adalah mengistall Sistem Operasi (Operating System). Sistem Operasi adalah seperangkat program yang mengelola sumber daya perangkat keras komputer atau Hardware, dan menyediakan layanan umum untuk aplikasi perangkat lunak atau Software.

Sistem Operasi juga bertugas untuk melakukan kontrol dan manajemen perangkat keras serta operasi-operasi dasar sistem, termasuk menjalankan perangkat lunak aplikasi seperti program-program pengolah kata dan peramban web.

Untuk jenis-jenis sistem Operasi yang digunakan komputer secara umum terbagi menjadi 3 kelompok yaitu Keluarga Microsoft, Keluarga UNIX dan Keluarga Mac OS. Untuk penginstalan Sistem Operasi sebaiknya Anda sesuaikan dengan kebutuhan Anda. Jika Anda masih awam mengenai Sistem Operasi sebaiknya Anda gunakan Sistem Operasi dari Keluarga Microsoft, karena Sistem Operasi ini masih paling  familiar dan banyak digunakan oleh semua kalangan. download ESET Smart Security 7.0.302.26+Keymaker full

You must set the extraction location for the mara-fix to be excluded from ESET before you extract the file. Otherwise, ESET deletes it immediately.

Please follow these directions:

• Disconnect internet
•  Uninstall current version of ESET (or any other anti-virus/security suite software)
• Reboot
•  Install ESS 7–This will take quite some time.
•  When asked to activate, ignore all three options. Instead click “Activate Later” in the lower right corner.

**Step 6) Add the download folder ESET 7.0.302.26 to exlcusions list otherwise, ESET automatically deletes the mara-fix
immediately upon extraction!!**

Once ESS 7 is installed, open the GUI, click Setup in the left side pane

• Click computer on the right at the top.
• Click “Edit Exclusions…” under “Real-time file system protection” at the top.
• At the bottom in the middle click Add…
• Navigate to the dowload location of ESET Smart Security 7.0.302.26 and click ok. Click OK and Yes.

**Step 7) Disable self-defense: Click Setup again>>Click the arrow for HIPS under Computer at
the top and then click setup. Uncheck Enable Self-defense. Then click okay. Click Ok again and yes.

Step Reboot.

9) Extract ESET – Mara-fix v1.6.rar to the ESET Smart Security 7.0.302.26.

10) Open the ESET – Mara-fix v1.6 folder>>Right-click “Eset fix.exe”>>Run as Administrator

11) Click the Fix it! button. Once it finished and refreshes close the application.

 12) Enable Self-defense. Setup>>HIPS>>Setup>>Enable Self-defense.

13) Reboot.

14) Turn on internet connection

15) Update ESS 7.
16) Setup up any access rules and scan schedules.
